The University of Saint Mary education programs are accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and the Kansas State Board of Education (KSBoE). This accreditation covers both initial and advanced educator preparation programs. CAEP is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation to accredit programs for the preparation of teachers and other professional school personnel. Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) program review and KSBoE accreditation is required for programs leading to Kansas teacher licensure.
The University of Saint Mary has received specialized accreditation for its business and business-related programs through the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE), Olathe, Kansas. The following degree programs are accredited by the IACBE:

The entry-level Occupational Therapy doctoral degree program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), located at 6116 Executive Boulevard, Suite 200, North Bethesda, MD 20852-4929. ACOTE’s telephone number c/o AOTA is (301) 652-AOTA and its web address is www.acoteonline.org Graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination for the occupational therapist administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR). In addition, all states require licensure in order to practice; however, state licenses are usually based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Examination. The licensure concentration of the Master of Science in Psychology, listed in previous catalogs as the LMLP track of the Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, is approved by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board to prepare students for licensure as a Licensed Master’s Level Psychologist (LMLP).
The Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, listed in previous catalogs as the LPC track of the Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, is approved by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board to prepare students for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and is approved by the Missouri Division of Professional Registration’s Committee for Professional Counselors to prepare students for licensure as a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC).
The Master of Arts in School Counseling is accredited by the Kansas State Board of Education (KSBoE) through the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) program review process and accreditation.
The University of Saint Mary Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education’s (CSWE) Board of Accreditation (BOA). Accreditation of a baccalaureate social work program by the BOA indicates that it meets or exceeds standards of program quality evaluated through a peer review accreditation process. An accredited program has sufficient resources to meet its mission and goals and the BOA has verified that it demonstrates compliance with all sections of the Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS). Accreditation provides reasonable assurance about the quality of the program and the competence of students graduating from the program.
The University of Saint Mary Master of Social Work (MSW) program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education’s (CSWE) Board of Accreditation (BOA). Accreditation of a Master social work program by the BOA indicates that it meets or exceeds standards of program quality evaluated through a peer review accreditation process. An accredited program has sufficient resources to meet its mission and goals and the BOA has verified that it demonstrates compliance with all sections of the Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS).
