Research and library support for USM students is provided by library staff during all hours the Keleher Learning Commons (KLC) is open in person, via phone, and through the ask@stmary.edu email. The library collections are designed to serve the research needs of students and faculty by providing access to relevant materials in a variety of formats, including print and electronic books and article and video databases. The library also provides access to subject specific and general research guides and tutorials.
Staff are available during business hours to check out technology tools such as laptops, video cameras, and podcasting equipment to assist with coursework and projects, as well as facilitate large-scale paper printing projects and 3D printing assignments for a wide variety of classes. The 3D printer allows USM students to participate in experiential project-based learning with real-world applications.
In addition to academic support, library collections include popular titles, board games, lifestyle tools, and other resources to support the quality of the student experience and lifelong learning.
Located on the second floor of the Keleher Learning Commons, the LeBeau Special Collections exhibit space highlights a selection of items from the University Special Collections, including the Bernard H. Hall Lincoln Collection, Sir John and Mary Craig Scripture Collection, and other historical and artistic books, art pieces, documents, and memorabilia collected by or donated to the University Special Collections. This exhibit space and collections are available for public viewing during the KLC's open hours.
