CR 335 Forensic Interviewing
A primary skill of law enforcement officers, probation and parole officers, and others in the criminal justice system is the ability to interview witnesses, suspects and offenders. Even a seemingly simple interview can be unsuccessful if the interviewer is unprepared. This course will cover the elements required to increase your chances of conducting a successful interview or interrogation. A study of the principles of behavioral influence, deception detection, communication skills, along with ethical and legal issues will eventually culminate in the student demonstrating these concepts in interviews and interrogations during mock criminal investigations.
