SW 200 Introduction to the Helping Professions
This course is open to students interested in learning more about careers in the helping professions and in service to others. Students will become acquainted with the various practice settings in the service profession disciplines (including the fields of health and human services, counseling, case management, first responding, and service corps programs). Explores the sources of societal problems, injustices, system goals, and ethical issues in which services are provided. Students will learn what it means to "help" and "serve" others, and reflect on the challenges and rewards of a life of service.
