TH 216 Theology of Saints and Holiness
This course investigates the meaning of Christian holiness as well as those lived characteristics of moral virtue, prayer, and mystical experience associated with it that frame sainthood as a theological topic. Select saints will be surveyed in addition to patterns of thought and action that integrate holiness with joy, goodness, and meaning. Attention will be given to how the communion of saints can be understood doctrinally and experientially. Consequently, this inquiry will examine the theological intersections of history, spirituality, biography and doctrine.
