BI 451 Immunology
This lecture course is designed to introduce the students to the fundamental concepts of modern immunology. Topics include the history of immunology; cells, tissues and organs of the immune system; the development, activation, and effector functions of cellular and humoral immunity; and the dysregulation of immune response in the settings of hypersensitivity, autoimmunity, immunodeficiency and cancer. Modern immunologic techniques are incorporated throughout the course.

BI 220 at a grade of "C" or higher or consent of instructor
