HI 156 Themes in World Civilizations II
This survey course will address the major events in world history from 1500 to post-World War II by looking at connections through broad themes such as the New Worlds/Old World exchanges, slavery, colonialism, the Industrial Revolution, gender roles, nationalism and decolonization. The class will also consider various theories advanced by historians to effectively study modern world history. This is a required course for all history majors and all students planning to teach secondary education history. For majors, this will be categorized under the World concentration.
