HI 327 North American Environmental History

This course explores the interaction between human societies and the natural world in North America from seventeenth to the twentieth centuries. The course will explore: differences and similarities in Indigenous and Euro-American agricultural and resource strategies, the effects of industrialization and urban growth, and changing ideas of wilderness during the longue duree of North American history.
