PHY 315 Engineering Physics I

Survey of classical mechanics for science majors and engineering majors. Topics include: kinematics in one and two dimensions, Newton’s law of motion and dynamics, rotation of rigid bodies, energy concepts in physical systems, Newton’s law of universal gravitation, and harmonic motion. Facility in calculus is assumed.  Lecture three hours per week and laboratory three hours per week.
