BI 305 Environmental Problems
The course is designed to give a scientific foundation to Environmental Science before moving on to examine Environmental Problems, their causes, effects and solutions. Problems such as poverty, population growth and globalization are examined as root causes of many other problems. Further problems examined include pesticides, air pollution, water pollution, global warming, waste reduction, deforestation, and loss of biodiversity. A service learning component of the course allows students to explore environmental problems in the local community. Lecture course. To fulfill graduation requirement for laboratory science,
NS 108 must also be taken, but it need not be taken concurrently.
Prerequisite
EN 111 and
EN 112, both at a grade of "C" or higher is required or consent of instructor
