TH 311 Theological Reflection

A process geared towards personal and communal transformation, in theological reflection we explore people's lived experiences and the ways in which they make meaning. It invites individuals and communities to scan the horizon for divine presence and sacred symbols. As an art and a discipline, theological reflection is always contextual. In this course, students will learn to reflect through three primary lenses: stories emerging from the works of mercy as outlined in Matthew 25, street ministry, including restorative justice for former gang members, and the dignity of populations that are often ignored or scorned by society. Students will reflect on their own spirituality through autobiographical exploration and by engaging with the sacred stories of others.
