DPT 789 Elective: Pediatrics
Expansion of previously learned examination and treatment techniques utilized with the pediatric patient population, stressing the integration of knowledge and skills based on evidence-based practice. This clinical experience will enable students to further develop assessment and intervention strategies, develop plans of care, progress therapeutic activities, communicate with pediatric team members, recommend adaptive equipment as appropriate, document treatments, develop goals, and assess progress. The course will also expand on working with other pediatric professionals such as occupational therapists and speech language pathologists.
