Sport Management
Mission
The mission of the University of Saint Mary and the Sport Management Program is to serve undergraduate students with diverse educational needs. The program seeks to develop graduates that are competent, ethical, socially responsible, and globally aware. The Sport Management program leads to a Bachelor of Science degree, with a major in Sport Management and required 9-credit emphasis in either Budgeting and Finance, Communications, General Management, or Marketing.
Program Learning Outcomes
The Sport Management major expects that students will:
- Acquire disciplinary knowledge in sport management.
- Analyze information to develop critical thinking and decision-making skills for sport business solutions.
- Understand the various sport business settings to connect theory to practice.
- Apply law and ethics to the various sport settings and activities.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively in various sport business settings.
The major consists of a common core and 9 credits of electives tailored to the student's professional interests and plans in the emphasis they have chosen.
