For their electives, it is strongly recommended that elementary education teacher candidates pursue an area of concentration (15 credit hours of coursework) in a content area (the sciences or math, English, history, the social sciences), English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), or Special Education.
Only grades of “C” or higher are accepted for education courses and general education courses that inform elementary education content areas.
