Pre-Medicine
Medical schools generally require the following: completion of a chosen major, two years of chemistry (General Chemistry I and II, Organic Chemistry I and II), one year of physics (Physics I and II), one year of biology (Principles of Biology I, Principles of Biology II, Cell Biology, Genetics), and mathematical competence to support understanding of science courses. Additionally, changes to the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) in 2015 require students to have taken PY 150 Introduction to Psychology, SO 110 Introduction to Sociology, and BICH 461 Biochemistry Lecture.
The MCAT is required of students as part of the application for acceptance into a school of medicine.
